Summer RA Positions
Previous RA experience is not required for all Summer positions.
Due to dates of the position, RAs for Fall 2008 can NOT be Summer Housing Assistants.
2008 Deadlines
February 27 Download a Summer 2008 RA Application.March 21
by 4 p.m. Applications due back. Turn into room 159 of Main Housing Office located at 711 W. Main Street, or to room 107 in Bear Hall on the MCV campus.
Apr 11 Hiring Decisions will be made by this date.
Mid May Anticipated training dates for Summer RAs is May 11-13.

Summer RA
| Duties |

| Respond to student situations, policy violations, and emergencies |
| Limited programming for summer residents |
| Rotating On-Call coverage from 4:30pm to 8am on weekdays |
| Rotating 24-hour On-Call coverage on weekends |
| Live in assigned residence hall room |
| Available May 10 to August 11 |

| $6.15/hr for 13 hrs/week |

Summer Housing Assistant
| Duties |

| Coordinating transient housing |
| Arrange and coordinate housing assignments for summer conference participants and/or summer school residents. |
| Rotating 24-hour On-Call coverage weekdays and weekends |
| Live-in assigned residence hall |
| Provide coverage for support staff as needed |
| Maintain arrival departure dates for transient and student housing occupants and for summer conferences. |
| Maintain records of financial transactions for transient and student housing and for conferences |
| Available May 10 to August 11 |
| Compensation |
