Department of Pharmacy

The Department of Pharmacy has as it's focus both the safe and effective use of drugs in humans (Pharmacotherapy) and an evaluation of the social and economic impact of drug therapy in humans and in health care systems (Pharmacy Administration).


Department of Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics is a multidisciplinary applied science concerned with delivering and maintaining appropriate drug concentrations at target sites in the body for appropriate times (thus, alleviating disease by optimizing drug effects over time).


Department of Medicinal Chemistry

Medicinal chemistry is at the forefront of innovation, blending synthetic chemistry, molecular modeling, computational biology, structural genomics, and pharmacology to discover and design new drugs, and investigate their interaction at the molecular, cellular, and whole-animal level.


Continuing Education

The goal of Continuing Education is to improve health care delivery in the Commonwealth of Virginia by identifying, developing, and promoting educational programs that will maintain, enhance and expand the competencies of pharmacy practitioners.


Center for Drug Studies

The Center for Drug Studies (CDS) of the VCU School of Pharmacy specializes in "Phase I" Clinical Studies for the development of new drugs and new drug delivery systems.


Phartech

Phartech is a centralized technology team that manages the numerous requests for support from faculty, staff, and students.
