FALL 2008
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is pleased to be one of five Virginia universities that were awarded state funded grants to offer graduate level on-line courses leading to a five-year renewable license with an endorsement in Special Education: General Curriculum. Eligible participants are special educators holding a valid conditional or provisional teaching license.
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) selected the universities through a competitive process to provide coursework and field experiences across the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. We are excited that VCU has been selected to offer reduced tuition for our approved endorsement program to special educators in Region 1 and Region 8.
However, there are current COVE participants from regions outside of our designated areas. VCU, VDOE, and the other funded colleges and universities are committed to making sure that you can complete the COVE program or that you will be able to transfer to the University in your respective region, if you chose.
The following Universities have been funded by VDOE to provide special licensure programs with reduced tuition:
