Office of Research Services
Mission
The Office of Research Services (ORS) directly supports the School of Education in its effort to build a research culture that celebrates and nurtures high quality scholarship. Further, the ORS encourages the integration of research and teaching by sponsoring workshops and other research initiatives. To this end, the ORS oversees internal research proposal competitions, identifies and distributes funding opportunity announcements, assists faculty with proposal development and compliance issues and, generally, promotes professional development opportunities related to the conduct of research for the faculty of the School of Education. More broadly, the ORS serves the goals of the VCU 2020 Strategic Plan, specifically Theme III: Assuring continued international recognition for our research, scholarship and creative expression by enhancing faculty development in an effort to increase and sustain faculty excellence.
