Kevin Bailey
Hello, I’m Kevin Bailey, VCU graduate and counselor in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. I visited VCU for a journalism workshop as a high school sophomore nine years ago, and I have not looked back since. This is my home, and I am more than grateful to give back to the college community that has done so much for me throughout the years.
I was born and raised in northwest Washington, D.C., and I now have the pleasure of visiting prospective students from high schools in my home city. Like the majority of incoming students that enroll here, I spent my high school years in Virginia.
Without question, VCU continues to grow, expand and improve year after year. This campus looks nothing like it did when I arrived as a freshman in 1998, and it is safe to assume VCU will not look the way it does now in five years. And that is just part of the excitement.
VCU is more than an institution of higher education. This diverse campus — in the heart of Virginia’s capital city, Richmond — gives its students a complete “real-world” cultural experience. The academics, technology and activities here are top notch. There is always something to do locally during your spare time, and if you are a shopper like I am, this area is heaven!
I am extremely enthusiastic about my alma mater, and I invite you to experience VCU for yourself. Please contact me at khbailey@vcu.edu. If you have a question, I have an answer!
Hope to see you soon.
