Artis Gordon
Hello! My name is Artis Gordon and I am the transfer coordinator in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Virginia Commonwealth University.
I grew up in Hampton, Va., and I arrived on VCU’s campus in the summer of 1996. I was immediately captivated by the diverse cultures of the student body. I took advantage of the wide variety of courses of study and various cultural events while a student here. I earned my bachelor’s degree in mass communications with a concentration in journalism and went on to earn my master’s degree in sports leadership from VCU.
VCU is a place where it is very comfortable to think outside of your box, which is essential for your personal growth. Transferring to VCU will put you in a position to expand your network and build rapport with a talented, diverse group of students and dynamic faculty.
I encourage you to come and visit what our campus and the city of Richmond has to offer. I welcome your questions. Feel free to call me at (804) 828-6211 or e-mail at ajgordon@vcu.edu. I hope to meet you when I am out on the road visiting various community colleges around Virginia or when you visit campus.
